The history of nuclear weapons is scattered in plain view across the country. You can find the weapons at museums and at military bases, of course, but you can also see them at high schools, city parks, surplus stores, churches, and rest stops.

I’ve crisscrossed the country for the last three years, driving over 35,000 miles from coast to coast, making photographs of nuclear weapons throughout America.

This project examines their history and underscores the urgent policy questions these weapons pose for our world.
